a swan is a poem

a swan is a poem

my residence changed, but under the glass ceiling i still dwell.
i’m no longer invested in hell.
god has been my secret admirer,
yet i have never seen a bush catch fire.

i pick berries off the tree
of my youth’s poetry.
the land is reborn;
the one we’ve torn
in half, turning
on him and burning
his kingdom; our home.
a swan is a poem.

Beautiful scenery! Of course, I like your verse most!

This is really good. I like how you incorporated the story of Moses when God called him from the burning bush. My favorite line though, "God has been my secret admirer." love it!
