i may not be

i may not be a member of your club,
this sickening society that trembles
at the sight and stench of success,
of individuality, of what seems to be me,
but i still live and sleep and eat and drink
and smoke and cry and smile and laugh
like others.

i may not be the most educated man,
renouncing the schools and mocking
the teachers, but what i am is an observer,
an accountant, someone who records
the present in the future with a pallet
from the past.

i may not be your fairytale lover,
that man they painted and named perfect,
but i will make you my synonym for love,
write a book and name it after you,
and most importantly, i will be
honest with you.

                It is the way to go. If I was to put my goal for 2018 onwards into a word, it'd be honesty.
