Anxious Love

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

Gauging if the feelings are the same,
He couldn't last much longer in this state,
The antidote to all desirous pains,
But wait— was just one more day possible to wait?

Always sneaking in glances at that face,
Oh how she outmatched him in every way,
He was just a hopeless pastime for her grace,
Obsessed over a game of love they’d never play.

See her more but know her less,
Day after day seeing her causes more distress,
Makes no move, keeping love to itself,
Eternal hope that she won't find someone else.
