creating life
and such abundance
trickling down
the window sill
creeping into
the crevices of our world
it's many gifts
overshadowed by
the small inconvenience
it may serve
disappears into the ground
giving definition
to the beauty of nature
that lives off its generosity
the highest mountains
defined by its force
rivers that flow
through the valleys
and the forests
that flourish in its presence
in the atmosphere
or bursting from the clouds
pouring down buckets
descending from the heavens
floating through the sky
violent and gentle
cleansing the earth
of its past
creating the new
as it
beats down
upon your head
but still
grateful for its touch
its healing liquid
washing over your soul
with no intention
but just to be
we can sense
its on its way
before the sweetness
of its smell
scents the lustful air
with the
glory of its fragrance
on any given day
dampening your mood
in a dark and dreary way
no need to run and hide
it always goes away
after all --
it's just.., rain!
