The Process Of Dying...

The long journey ahead
you take on your own
from a life that you've known
to that of what's unknown

before anyone notices
you feel it in your bones
your ship has set sail
the voyage of Davy Jones

accepting your mortality
the end could be near
relinquishing your power
lack of any fear

we make our reparations
that are long overdue
unconsciously we just know
there are steps to go through

the subconscious takes over
instinct kicks in
"things" lose their meaning
as the end begins

some will go slowly
with loved ones all around
others hope it's quick
and get buried face down

not all will die well
some just pass away
to the rest of the world
it's just another day

whichever way it happens
we all just seem to know
no matter how surreal
that it's time to go

beyond all you are
whatever you have been
those moments of pure joy
and all the lustful sin

long before your death
before all the crying
we all will experience it
the process of dying...
