RAPE: It's not just the stranger you always thought it would be.

Pleading to no avail,
He held tight unto me,

My strength had failed me,

So I kept mute to the nightmare,
But then I couldn't hold it in.

So I talked to the people I trusted,
Only that I wasn't trusted,
I was rather unbelieved,
"But you went to him" they said,
"You seduced him" they said.

It's not rape if he is not a stranger,
It's not rape if you went to him,
It's not rape if you didn't fight,
It's not rape if you two had talked about sex,

With tears in my eyes I said,
"But I didn't consent to it"
Defeated and disgraced,
I ran to my room and drowned of pills,
For I was now too ashamed to face the world.

N:B this is just a fiction creating awareness on rape and sexual abuse, it doesn't matter if it's a friends, relative or stranger, it doesn't matter if you had any form of sexual relationship with the person previously, No is No and it still counts as rape.
