A Game You Couldn’t Win

in poetry •  6 years ago  (edited)

How many times have life warned you? Enough—enough but you won’t listen;
You keep on pushing forward,
Believing there had to be ‘something.’

Bewildered with many manifestations,
Let yourself be deceived by false visions; Under the moon, he caught your eye,
Tragedy encompasses the danger in his eyes.

Do people always fall for something they can’t have?
A horrible feeling that cuts your heart into halves;
Please dare not talk, touch or kiss him, Believe me—it’s a game you couldn’t win.

”The sea loved the moon,
When she was supposed to love the shore.”
