Endless circle

in poetry •  7 years ago

Harmony tranquility reigns
An endless symphony
One whose patterns
Once predictable and peaceful
Now rage on and shift like the winds in a storm
Trees to their knees
Falling to the wind
Scintillates of lightning lighting up the sky
In a never seizing display of both beauty
And petrifying truth about what we tend to dread
The light at the end of the tunnel a beacon of hope to many
An end to many
Because loyalties change
Once driven by love
Now by opportunity
In an endless circle
Where each stabs the other in the back
