Its been a long journey
Our soles worn out
Our tongues sticking out
Our breathing heavy
Dragging our feet our arms around each other
Turning frantically around
Searching to find solace somewhere
But wherever we sought we were turned down
We wandered
Slept with the foxes
Battled the night wolves
Until our fire dimmed and went out
The very purpose of our existence
Looking like a myth about lost treasure and secret islands
And when all seemed lost
We stumbled upon you
We found peace in your embrace
Safety in your smile
But the scars and bites and wounds still fresh from our struggles...still kept us weary
We'd been waylaid by the song of the wolves before.
Hypnotized by the snakes dance...
But standing before us was a creature we new nothing about
Wiped our tears away
Nursed our wounds
We felt alive once more
