"Embody Water"
I write on my wrist
be fluid and flow
be gentle as mist

Babble like the brook
move calmly like streams
fall softly like rain
"Be water!" I scream

But water is fierce
violent and strong
it's quick to attack
but damage is long

which side of water
am I to become?
the kind to flow free
or pound like the drum?

Favorite stanza of the whole bit. The dichotomy of water's two behaviors -- flowing sweetly and softly, soothing in its sound, but at the same creating destruction. You never know what type of water you will experience.

Same here! And this - "Be water!" I scream because of the irony or paradox: water falls softly like rain, and she screams "be like water." How did I overlook this for two months???
