What Time Teaches

in poetry •  6 years ago

Lost in the lake of thought
Preoccupied pondering outweighs premonition
There was a time
Before the brain blossomed with bearing
When consequence would outweigh cognition
And impulse reigned supreme

Now we linger long in speculation
Choice arrived from a musing mind
Not a hasty heart

Rapt in the ruin of rumination
And the calamity of chronology

Clocks bleed time,
only to turn to dust

Pocket Watch, Time Of, Sand, Time, Clock, Clock Face

I really liked your poem, the reality, the feeling, the desire, It reminded me of something recent.

Clocks bleed time,
only to turn to dust

That part means a lot for me.
