Chrysalis Caged

the chrysalis
caged
cocooned
inside
a bony mesh

hide, stay alive, hide

the chrysalis
stirs
pulses
current flows
a tattoo beats

remain where you are
stay quiet
remain where you are

the chrysalis
two-sided
still incomplete
only one half
of dualistic bliss

lightening strikes
only once

breathe caught
the chrysalis dies
is born anew

flutter
sprout wings
flutter

the chrysalis
has learned to fly
to soar, to love
but never
will it be free

Wow, very nice poetry! It fits well with the image.

Thank you, Lightsplasher. So glad you liked it:)

Gorgeous <3

Thank you, kilbride:0

this is beautifully written, the live of one born anew to become another, but losing it's original self, but all within that one life time. Really lovely xx

Thank you, Trucklife:):):)

Interesting philosophical poetry that speaks of change, desire for freedom, life imprisonment for cycles, attachment to life.

Thank you, zeleira:)

This poem has such a lovely cadence, @prydefoltz! It’s beautiful, and a joy to read, even with its slightly melancholy ending.

Thank you, Jayna:)

ooof. Poor chrysalis! Cages suck :(

They do but some are rewarding too:)

a poem of metamorphosis with a moral :)

Thank you, John:)

I am impressed of your incredible words :)

Thanks so much, Margaret:)

the chrysalis goes out to love hastily. The minutes of life are counted in seconds. It becomes a beautiful butterfly to die

Great interpretation. Thank you, Cordero:)

Whew, I feel like we are on some sort of alignment half the time... and I'm allright with it. I feel the way this, currently (they vibe of this poem).
