Descending

fantasy-1523547994vJG (1).jpg

upon an undulating apex
shrouded in greying cumulus
I observe, celebrate, and weep

below

  what
             has
                      come

is laid out
a menagerie
of all things
imaginable

sand and glass
rock and soil
silt and mud

take measure
and sort
I take measure
and sort

clumsily-moulded
clay feet descend
upon once bright-ideas
reverse-engineering
to rust and brass

go quick                       look up
before the rungs       somewhere
dissolve                        there is a light

my footsteps brand creation
shimmering, shining, glinting
dulled, decayed, and dim
faded to black

take measure
and sort
I take measure
and sort

I observe, celebrate, and weep

Fantastic write and interesting visually as well.

Thanks so much, Mamadini. Love when my work connects:)

Although the words melted my being, you had me at the first pic. I love your literary gift and having the honor of getting a peek at your imaginative creativity.
