[ORIGINAL POEM] Lime

in poetry •  8 years ago

it's the time for lime
citrus zest of sex
the bitter sublime
taste of fresh
-ness sweet crime
of new birth lines
a grime-free
regeneration sign
life which beats
sunbeams which
bleach skins
like moist paper
bursts seams
and seeds
things sweet
things flesh
-lings seething
juices of burnt beings
gritty seas of free
-swimming
humming
bees of people
lukewarm
busy breezes
singing air
that breathes
and breathes
and bears acres
of heavy
dark-warm
light aches
of half-light
drips
with sweet must
dry oaky dust
and opens hard
nuts with wet
wind soaks us
through until
thoroughly cooled
slow and blue-old
gnarled and curled
away paled away to
a half-thought
a half-thawed kernel
that waits
blinks
and waits
and then
it's time
for lime
again
