POEM: HAMMOCK

in poetry •  7 years ago

Your words swung
By the river hammock
The flies rested
Under rubber mallets

This too would be
A strange release
While we brandish our chains
And talk of peace

Your footstep crystals
Small and white
Dimmed our moment
Between time's shoulders

The video vaults
For the quiet day
Measure our love
And note decay

Very beautiful poem!

What an absolutely beautiful poem @rubenalexander.
I can imagine myself next to the river side, swinging on a hammock. Time flies by and it isn't there to carry you with it. Love and serenity are bred from the time of peace but also the slow decay of everything around us.

Love hammocks!
