Anti-chromatic

in poetry •  8 years ago

Color me pretty, for I'm indefinitely blue
But I seem to turn red, when I'm with you
No skeptics inquire, in this colorless age
Why you are chromatic, on a black and white page

You bring forth color, to a lifeless life
Turning off the darkness, on the darkest night
Your love brings colors, all unseen
Like streams of light, of the brightest beams

And I'm left sightless to the world
Unable to paint my lover girl
And I'm left standing here in the rain
Washing off color that you've stained

I am colorless, in no special way
But on the darkest nights, you bring the day
You changed my life, and uncovered my eyes
Brought all these new color, to my colorless life
