RUINED

I am ruined by life's heaviest downpour
By the sun's melting strength
By the wind, piling dirt in the deepest pits of my soul
I am a paste of tears, beauty and sweat
The world snuck in its shell leaving me to crumbs of rock for dinner
Tangled dreams are the plaits on my head
Twisted into locks until they become thorns
I am drained of all tastes
Of the fragrance I wear at dawn
Of the smile that permeates the faces of others
Ask my purse to tell you its tale of wealth
I am ruined.
