STUCK - a one-lined poem

I am pinioned by this irrevocability of fate,
Held down amidst the deafening clamour
Between what has given me,
And what will take everything away from me,
In the limbo of life and death;
Where diffident thoughts make me want to differ
From the frugality of the former
And the inevitability of the latter,
And I crave but for this space
To help me ascend above my destiny.
