Unforgotten lies

in poetry •  7 years ago

Echoes of the past,
Long gone with time,
Days of glory vanished
And the golden moments
All came and went
But I never saw them,
I only heard of them.

Dear beautiful liar;
Do you remember your lies,
Or maybe you're busy lying again.
Making fools out of our trust
I wouldn't expect you to remember
But I'll ask you still,
Do you remember your kind lies.

Promised me a bright future
The Delilah smile fooled me,
And I called you future wife
Well, yet another lesson learnt,
Lies are lies
And will be remembered
I do it not to repeat mistakes.
