You exploded

 at the middle of the ocean

in 1883.

.-.-.-.-.

Your rage showed Nature's power,

both so feared and so respected.

 Your power decided decided who will live and who will die.

.-.-.-.-.

Those who lived told

the deed of your strength

in their own handwriting.

.-.-.-.-.

Your son succeeds you in the throne;

many are afraid that he continues

what you left

in that fatal year of 1883.
