Story Haiku #1: Weekend Rush

in poetry •  7 years ago

Hi Steemians!

It's been a while since I wrote my last haiku. With the help of @brokemancode's 30 Day Haiku Challenge, I have been comfortable making haikus. I am thankful to @jocelynlily, @prydefoltz and @reewritesthings for taking time to read and comment on my works. They inspire me to write more and improve through their suggestions.

Since the haiku challenge already ended, I will still pursue with my poetic side and be making story haikus based on my day-to-day experiences. As a kick start, here is the first of my Story Haiku series:

Weekend Rush

Strode on smooth pavement
Cold morning breeze caressed face
Blood rushed, calves hardened

Love lots,

@wandergirl

Thanks for the shoutout, wandergirl. I am glad you have come back to posting. I look most days for your work and was pleased to find not one, but two haiku. I know this one intimately. I used run distance and formed a love-hate relationship with the burn:)

Sometimes I get lazy also doing runs especially if I haven't ran for days. But when I started a week running, my body keeps looking for it..😂

I have switched to karate but I do remember how good it felt to stretch out the hamstrings in a good pace:)
