Some friends be like;

Beneath the sheen
Of a lover's tryst,
A viper did lay its eggs
And shaped the future
With its forked tongue.

Give her all
And deny her nothing
For she's a jewel, a fountain
Of love and truth but
Do you know her father's name?

Wash her feet,
Dry her tears,
Sit with her when she dreams
Her nightmares but
Did you hear her story?

Dredge her pain
And paint it clean,
Feed her hope
And dare her begin
But my friend,
Do you think her true?

I have seen her hair
In places unexpected
And heard her voice
Whispering secrets
In another's mobile phone.
You know the devil
Is in the details.
