Today I am reading How It Will Happen, When by Dorianne Laux.
I discovered Dorianne Laux back in grad school, while pursuing my MFA, and I was amazed at how personal and sensual many of her poems were, like she was spilling the intimate details of life onto the page.
Laux published her first book Awake in 1990, and since has racked up numerous accolades, from receiving a Guggenheim Foundation fellowships to winning a Pushcart Prize. I read from her third book, Smoke (2000).
