National Poetry Month — April 27th

Today I am reading And the Old Man Speaks of Paradise: a Ghazal by Wang Ping.

A ghazal is originally an Arabic poetic form about loss and love. They are a series of couplets that all end with the same word. Often the couplets have the same length and meter.

Wang Ping has written more than a dozen books of poetry and prose. She's also received a National Endowment for the Arts and a Bush Foundation for the Arts award.
