There she was, standing alone (poem 2)

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

A peculiar scent entered the floor.
There she was standing alone.
The bells rang.
The wind was howling through the window.
It penetrated the room and created rattling bones, cold shivers.
In a near town a man celebrated in a crowded tavern.
All of them kept raising their glass.
Two glasses got smashed by collision.
A thousand shiny pieces scattered all over the rug.
Nature got more intense, darker, more scary.
The priest went to bed and praised the Lord for mercy.
There she was, standing alone.
