Greatness ~ original poetry

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hands on earth

The cars transport past my bedside
As I transport to another land in time
As the thoughts take my mind away
I surrender to you, leaving this body behind

Left in greatness, I am you
Sin the body
Sin the thoughts
Sin the mind
I rest in you

The birds sing the body restless
the thoughts tugged
and the mind...alas...alive among the land of the spiritless

The road curved, forked in two
Do you take the trialed path that leads you back to me?
The one that tears your heart in two

Or do you sleep among the land of the spiritless
in distress among the meaningless
