A Forlorn Soul
If only Time could be held at bay
And the future ruffled to reveal its content
Perhaps, Friends, we would tell what lies yonder -
Why our struggles never paid even though we tried.
Sleep has departed from my eyes long ago
And my days are lived short of what it knew -
Of happiness and joy and those little tingling
That makes man a Man and makes him long for tomorrow.

I really understand the language of your poem....the race to success

This poem has left me with an uneasy feeling . It ends with describing something positive - however, having stating that there is a lack of it. It leaves an aftertaste - knowing what you could have but you don't. Absence of happiness is cruel.
