During the Lapras Raid Day I spilled some water in the sand and suddenly this Lapras showed up there! What just a bit of water can attract, huh? This poor Lapras was mostly in the sand though, so I managed to successfully capture it and give it plenty of water to swim in.
With a group we decided to meet up at The Houten Schip Gym at the start of the Lapras Raid Day and then do several raids in the city center and a bit outside of it for a few people who still wanted to. We actually had to play in two groups due to the amount of people we were with. The Raids all went smooth. With the 2nd Raid I did I encountered a Shiny Lapras!
After 3 Raids I finished my two quests to Win 3 Raids which gives Absol as a reward. I was then able to get this quest another time to fulfill with the next upcoming Lapras Raids. At one of the Lapras Raids in the center one person in our group had a 100% IV Lapras. She often has a lot of trouble catching it so usually asked me to catch it once I caught my own. And I was successfully able to catch this one for her too! :D When we did the 4 Lapras Raids in the Center and the one in the shopping street we continued walking down that street to get to an area with 3 more Gyms not too far apart.
At those 3 Raids I had one Lapras run away unfortunately. Not too bad though as it's only one that ran away and it didn't have such good IV anyway. When we finished those 3 Raids the majority of the people who were with us decided it was enough for them after having done 8 Raids. Just 3 of us also wanted to still go to the Wooden Playground to do a final Lapras Raid. With that Gym being an EX-Raid Gym we would get ourselves the chance for an EX-Raid invite.
This is my Shiny Lapras that I got at the 2nd Raid and here you can see all 8 of the Lapras I caught from doing 9 Lapras Raids. Both 1486 CP Lapras are 89% IV, with slightly different stats, so I still don't have a Lapras above 90% IV. I will try to trade some of these bad ones, perhaps keep one to trade for another one during a Lucky Trade.
My Shiny Lapras is 82% IV, which is quite nice :D The Lapras from this Lapras Raid Day have a legacy moveset only available for the Lapras caught during the event. Consisting of Ice Shard as Fast move and the Charged move Ice Beam. This is not its strongest moveset for attacking, but still like 2nd strongest so that's nice and it might be great in trainer battles too. For Gym defending its the best moveset due to the faster charging of the Charged attack compared to other Charged attack options.
