In what seems to be the least anticipated Pokemon Go Community Day, September 22nd will host the Chikorita event. Chikorita is the grass type starter Pokemon from Generation 2 in the main series games. It is definitely underwhelming when compared to previous events but it was widely expected as there seems to be a pattern involving the starter being the stars of the events.
However, in order to create some hype from the event, Niantic is giving a 3x boost on XP from catches during the event. This is in addition to the normal increased spawns of Chikorita with a chance of finding their shiny variants. Also, they will continue to provide 3 hour long lures for the spand of the event. Lastly, Meganium will learn Frenzy Plant when evolved during the event.
Like previous events, I have held on to a large amount of pokeballs to prepare for the event. While not so exciting, adding a shiny to the collection is not bad. I will target to get at least one for each evolution. Many wonder what next month’s event will bring as it is typical to host a rarer Pokemon between the months of the starters. I will look forward to whatever it is when it comes.
Thanks!

I'm a little bit surprised that people are still playing it! It looks like the game has formed a vibrant community already!
