Niantic continues to rollout the next generation of Pokemon in its mobile game Pokemon Go by launching an event that will provide opportunities to gather materials and Pokemon needed to evolve Pokemon from previous generations into newly available ones from Generation four which were found in the Sinnoh region in the original Nintendo games.
This event will last for two weeks thru November 27 and will now make available these Pokemon in 2 km eggs. In addition, there will also be an opportunity to hatch a Shiny Elekid which is an example of a Pokemon that has a new Generation four evolution. Some of these Pokemon have had rarer spawn rates which may bring a limitation as trainers may not have enough candy for the next evolution. This event will help this limitation as hatching Pokemon also provide a good number of candies of those Pokemon hatched.
Another update that has not been announced in game is that Sinnoh Stones are now available in game which will be the new consumable item to allow these previous generation Pokemon evolve into their new Sinnoh region form. So far, these stones are available when you complete your seventh day field research package. There may be other ways to get them but have yet to be announced. This is an exciting time as some of these evolution may become powerful Pokemon for the current meta in the game.
