I decided to make a commitment at least in words and in my head. So my poker project will be to play 500k hands over a maximum of 500 days. It will probably go slightly quicker but who knows. I will keep a very sensible bankroll management and that is my main promise to myself and the key to make it work.
Doug Polk made a video about what the traits are of the best poker players and this was the order on his list.
- Discipline
- Dedication
- Bankroll management
- Study
- Intelligence
I read this list and I feel that I undoubtedly can do this. There is also a certain amount of luck, but this will be a NL holdem cash game project and with the nice volume I think we will do alright. It will even out for the whole project.
My site does not work with a hud but I can view all the hands from the site. So when I make it until the end I’ll fix some kind of proof for it all. But for now I’m just going to get started and journal about it. Stability.
I am a very creative person with lots of interests. All of that will probably make it to small posts as well here and there. But I will update my poker challenge every single day.
Right now I am at Level 1 of this project and I have close to 38 BI. I will move up when I have 50 BI for the next level which will be 62 buyins up.
I want to disconnect from the absolute stakes because it’s hindered me in the past. I have wanted to play higher than I have the bankroll for, and for now I will just measure my progress in buyins and levels.
I’ll be back with the progress for the first day. I will also play 10 spin&go sngs every day just in case that could boost my bankroll. I like the idea to leave some room for being a total luckbox :)
