The flop consists of three cards.
The turn consists of one.

There are ten hand and board ranks you can have.

Lets begin with an example, a suited connector hand, 9 10 of clubs.We should take a flop at least and hope for :
8 or less high flop
A 9 or a 10 or both
Two nines or two tens
J and Q or 7 and 8 or 8 and J
J Q K or 6 7 8 or 7 8 J or 8 J Q
Two or three clubs
Two nines and one ten
Two tens and one nine
Three nines or three tens
J Q K or 6 7 8 or 7 8 J or 8 J Q of clubs
If none of the above happens it is advisable to check or fold.
