Hey Steemit Poker Players! Please evaluate this loosely Texas Holdem steemit post based simulated poker game I am inventing?

Hey Poker Playing Steemitizens!

I have been working on a new kind of game for steemit, for those of us that can't get enough poker of any type, in our daily lives.

I'd like to share a first look at my notes/rules/plan so far and get your thoughts on the idea.

This is the FIRST time I've mentioned, posted or told anyone about this particular game format or even my idea to run a full scale weekly poker-like game event.

This is sort of more like a poker lottery mixed with a poker run, meshed with bingo, and throwing in a little role playing as you all develop your table banter and game play style throughout the weekly events via the game post comments.

So - this is a lot to digest all at once, but I think it makes a simple, repeatable, enjoyable, and easily organized and operated (important to ME, the operator) game which I can run, inspired by the dungeons and steem game I am involved in, and the notorious @papa-pepper's survival game of course!

Would you play this game as designed here in by yours truly, @sircork?

Would you recommend any modifications or corrections to my fervant 3AM rules creation madness below?

In general, should I run this game? Talk to me Poker Peeple of Steemit! I want to do this, but I want to do it right, and pro.

Here you go:

SteemChallenge.com Weekly Monday-Friday $60SBD Play-By-Post Hold'em Poker Tournament.

Sit-N-Go Texas Hold'em Play-By-Post Poker Tournament!

Payout Table (Example only for rules discussion post. Subject to change on a per game basis):
First: $20 SBD
Second: $10 SBD
Third: $5 SBD

Player's Club Incentive:

Considering a players club option too - like during the 6 Post Weekly Game, I will split the amount of the highest value game post among all players who registered and played for the last 4 weeks or something.

Schedule:

Sunday:
Game Announcement/Registration Post - Must Register by Noon On Monday EST (GMT-4) at which time I will record the players for the week. All others will be turned away after noon EST (GMT-4) until the next weekly game begins again.

To register one must only comment on the Sunday announcement post with thier steemit @name, their steemit.chat @name (preferably the same!) and await hole cards via Chat on Monday afternoon/evening.

Monday-Wednesday
Registered players receive hole cards via steemit.chat on Monday.
One card exposed per day in a post made in the evening of each weeknight until Thursday.
Last call for Folds before showing the Turn card.

Thursday
This is the two round night.
First players check or fold.
Then remaining players call Split! or No Split! (No Split is the default vote if no reply is received. Splitting is explained later in this manual.)
At around midnight-2AM Thursday night, I will reveal the Turn card in a post.

Friday
The final post is made revealing the River and the entire board.

Player's hands are evaluated and winners determined.

Prizes are issued and congratulations or tears abound in the player locker rooms!

RULES & GUIDELINES
One deck per 6 players, per hand.

One hand per game, per week.

One game per week, player count must be divisible by 6. Extras will be turned away after multiples of six.

Players will sit at six seat tables.

Six players minimum for a weekly sit-n-go game to run.

All players hands for a full game are dealt and stored before the week begins using http://www.pokerlistings.com/which-hand-wins-calculator

Cards are only revealed card by card daily over a 5 day period.

No one can cheat because the pre-rolled hands are all predetermined before the game even begins.

Assignment of hand to players will be done by randomization of the hand on assignment to a random player/pre-rolled hand starting lineup.

Standard Hold 'Em Casino and Pro Tournament Dealing and Hand Rules Will Be Applied as needed to resolve disputes within the context of this modified randomized poker simulation game.

No ante, no blinds.

No betting rounds required.

Players are responsible subscribing to free chat accounts at http://steemit.chat in order to receive private messages containing your starting hole cards.

Players who register to play the poker tournament but fail to respond to steemit.chat will not receive hole cards and will be auto-folded on the first turn.

That's right. There are no betting rounds. The game jackpot is a fixed amount donated by the game creator for this freeroll game. No player is required or asked to spend any money to play this game that is just for fun and a chance to win one of the three weekly prizes based on random card dealing by a computer.

Players will be informed of their starting hole cards in steemit.chat by PM at the kick off of the game on Monday Nights by Midnight Eastern Standard Time (GMT-4).

To keep it interesting and to keep people glued to the game till it ends, players must respond to each new card in a comment on the card post.

The Player Turn response choices are:

  • Fold & Muck Cards (You quit and your cards will never be revealed)
  • Check & Pass (Stay in the game till the next turn.)

Because there is no betting, players may respond only with fold or check in daily hand post comments and may respond in any player order. Be advised. Folding first may not be wise only to see everyone else fold after you increasing that marginal hand you had, but waiting till last may cost you a missed turn if you don't make a call on time.

If you miss a turn, you will be folded and it's game over for you. Your cards will be mucked and not revealed.

So why would you fold at all in this game's prize table setup?

Well, you may only fold until the turn. You may not fold on the river. Players in the game after exposing the Turn card heading into the river, are in the game. You must fold out before the river is displayed.

Because if you fold, when it's clear you probably couldn't win anyway, it's a serious decision and pro poker players know going much further is fishing.

To reward your good judgement in folding before drawing dead and losing it all, which has now greatly increased the excitement of remaining players about their improved chances and simultaneously given you a graceful exit from a losing hand without revealing your cards, I will reward you with 50% of the SBD earned on the game post in which you fold on the day you fold.

As of midnight EST on that day I will check the post total on steam.supply and steemnow.com and my blog, average them and mark down your half of the post reward as an entertainment gratuity to you for your performance with our readers who followed the game and had to see you choose to fold. Some may opt to fold if the page pot is larger than the game prize, right? And that's entirely possible. Players folding on the same day will be splitting the post pot 50% share though, so consider that with regards to timing your pre-river fold moves! Also, it's a surprise for all when a player drops out and alters the outcome of the game if they had in fact been holding one of the top 3 winning hands. See how this introduces some exciting wrinkles in things now?

The other option of course, is not to have any folding, people just check all week and wait to see who wins the hand?

And then there's the lightening round.

On Thursdays, there will be two opportunities to move.

In round one, as usual, you will check or fold. This is the final opportunity to fold as the Turn card is about to be flipped over and exposed.

In round two, remaining, unfolded players, now having seen the Turn card, can choose Stay, or Split!

Split is the equivalent of All-In in this game. Calling split has the following effect.

  • All remaining players may deny the split request, Any remaining player may deny the split request. Any remaining player denying the split, ceases the split for all players. If any objection to the split is voiced - with No Split! Then there will be no split.

If no player OBJECTS to the split in a comment by the final turn of the game, the River card will not be revealed, and I will proceed to split the pot, between all remaining players evenenly, thus ending the game without a river card.

If someone objects, the last turn - the River card, will be revealed along with the top three winners of the remaining, unfolded players.

Note, Folding had a reward through the Turn card. However, you cannot fold AFTER the Turn card is exposed and if you stay in but are not in the top three, there will be no reward at all for you. You basically just lost. Try again next week!

Bro! I am totally in on this! I like the fold option you have, it will make the game more realistic since you actually have something at stake.

But are you ALL IN on this? :D

So, now that the excitement is wearing off. If you want to see this game live? Tear the rules apart, find the holes and the problems in game flow. Etc. Let's debug this thing and try it out once we have some agreeable rules. I can see running and operating the game is going to take me some serious effort behind the scenes for many players to be on it, so I want to get it straight BEFORE game day!

Thanks for reading and the feedback!
