Florida Congressional District 27 Representative Donna Shalala.jpg

On February 19, 2019 Representative Donna Shalala was at a town hall meeting and a friend of mine sent this message out to me by messenger. At the time he did not know that I had plans to see Representative Donna Shalala and Eileen Higgins at the Downtown Democrats Meeting on Thursday evening. I wanted to talk to her about a problem that I was having with my Social Security Checks and another about a Federal Law requiring low-Income Housing Contracts requiring that Landlords must have this clause in our Landlord/Tenant Contract:
"Rent Charge: Your rent is based on the area median income published annually by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. If the median income or utility allowance, as determined by appropriate authorities, increases or decreases during the term of this Lease, your Rent can be increased or decreased within 30 days after we give you written notice."
I cannot believe that a Federal Low-Income Housing Project would ever put something like this in a contract where the Landlord can raise the rent and any amount at any time during a yearly contract. I am trying to find out where and what Federal Low-Housing Contract states that the "Rent Charge" as being mandatory.
First read my friend's, Chris Ossman, evaluation for Representative Donna Shalala and then read about my meeting with Representative Donna Shalala. By the way she is the Representative for Florida House District 27 replacing Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. Now we move onto America Is In Trouble by Chris Ossman.

America Is In Trouble
America is in trouble. I just attended a town hall with Donna Shalala and all she did was spew Democratic BS. Disclaimer: I am a registered democrat, but I have no faith in that party or the other corporate/wealth-controlled party.
A few highlights.

  1. Some lady in the audience (seemed like a plant, the way she was asking her questions) asked "Donna? How can you protect Mueller while he continues his investigation?" An investigation that has zero evidence pertaining to the reason it was initiated, according to all involved. Shalala gave some response as to how she asked the new guy over Mueller if he would protect Mueller and that Mueller’s boss’ response was that he would protect Mueller, but he would not assure her that Mueller’s report would be made available to the public. After more than 2 years of "We got him!" on corporate news shows without getting him or even coming close to getting him for collusion with Russia, no one in the audience clapped or smirked or showed any interest in the Russia gate nonsense.
  2. When asked what she would do about the plastics polluting our oceans, Shalala said she would NOT sign on to any green new deal that didn't include a "Blue New Deal", meaning the oceans would have to be considered in that green new deal. While this sounds reasonable, it translates to "No legislation to combat climate change at all", because her only suggestion was to convince people to stop using plastics, plastic straws in particular. She is fine with the half measure of lowering the age for Medicare to 55, but not okay with signing legislation that fights climate change on land as a start, which she could amend to incorporate the oceans (according to her claim that she has the ability to amend bills).
  3. And, while I am on the subject of Medicare, Shalala implied that she wouldn’t support a Medicare For All bill but would push for lowering the age at which one becomes eligible for Medicare to 55 years old. This begs the question, if Medicare is good for people 65 years old and older and you believe it would be good for people 55 years old and older, than why wouldn’t it be good for everyone? This follow up to this question would be, If most economic studies of the cost of Medicare for All compared to our current and previous systems of providing healthcare (including right-wing or right-wing leaning studies) show that Medicare For All would save the United States Trillions of dollars (because it would eliminate the middle man cost of insurance companies, while still allowing those who prefer a private policy or supplemental insurance to have those things), why wouldn’t the Democrats push for Medicare For All, because it would help the 30 – 45 thousand people who die from lack of health every year avoid such a fate and why wouldn’t the Republicans push for Medicare For All, as it would be the more fiscally responsible thing to do?
  4. Another audience member asked her about stopping drilling in our national parks but seemed to forget that Obama allowed drilling in Arctic TWICE and along with his Secretary of State, pushed Fracking around the world.
  5. When I asked her if she would consider legislation that would refute the "Job Creator" lie that Republicans used to pass Trump's terrible tax bill give away to the rich, as explained in my petition/legislation listed here (https://petitions.moveon.org/sign/end-the-job-creator-lie) , she went off of some story about how public employees were forced to pay taxes on Metrorail cards they were given by the public agency or agencies for which they worked. When I tried to point out the irrelevance of her answer, the Mayor of Cutler Bay and host of this event took the microphone from me. Since this was near the end of the townhall anyway, I left. There is no sense in trying to get through to leaders like Shalala or the people who accept everything she says as Gospel.
With leaders like Shalala gas lighting us, America is going over a cliff and like the British empire and all empires of the past, is taking one step closer to annihilation.
    Good night and good luck.

Now the above post was my friend's review and my interaction, as detailed below with Representative Donna Shalala was even worse. After her remarks to me she should resign as a representative period.
I went downtown Miami where the Downtown Dem Miami was meeting. I have problems with my Social Security and a Federal Housing Program so I wanted to talk to Representative Donna Shalala and my Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins about affordable housing which I had previously talked to her office about when she was first elected.
While I was waiting for everyone to show up, I was sitting in the restaurant, talking to the acting President of the Downtown Dem Miami. He was very nice and explained to me what the Downtown Dem Miami job was and that they could not take sides with any of the Representatives or Candidates.
After a little while people started showing up so I went and sat down at a table to where I could see who was entering the building. I was specifically looking for Representative Donna Shalala and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins.
Then Representative Donna Shalala was standing by the door talking to someone that worked at the restaurant. I got up and walked over to her and waited for a few minutes while she was trying to find out where she could park her car. When she found out where she could park, I asked her if I could talk to her when she got back. She mostly ignored my request, which I attributed to her being worried about where her car was parked at the time. I really didn't think too much of it at the time.
I went back inside and waited until she got back and when she did walked through the door and asked me if this was where the meeting was being held and I said yes. Then she just turned around and walked to the other side of the room. This was very ignorant on her part. I gave her time to talk to some people but then I was getting the feeling that she was flat out ignoring me so I got up and walked over to her while she was talking to someone. I waited next to her when I got the shocking following statement. She turned to me and said, "I am mad at Bernie". I was wearing a Bernie Sanders tee shirt so she just flat out refused to talk to me period.
What kind of a Representative would ever do something like that besides Donald Trump or any other Republican? Now we know, it is Representative Donna Shalala.
When she got up there to speak it was really pathetic. She almost sounded like Trump by talking about what she was supporting and how the conversation was mostly about her. With her comments what she was really doing was putting Bernie Sanders down and telling me that the Democratic Party was not going to let Bernie Sanders win the election. This means only one thing, they are going to rig the election AGAIN since the Court System has already said the DNC had the right rig the Primary Elections because it is a private organization.
On My Minds Website I have put up a video called "Democrat Party Corruptions During the 2016 Election and Beyond" and I suggest that everyone watch it. It is a great video that serves as a reminder as to what the DNC has done to America and continue to do to us all, as corporate news outlets and leaders from both parties indicate that they will do everything in their power to subvert the will of the People as they silence Progressive voices by keeping Progressive candidates out of the running.
Right now, there are only three 2020 Presidential Candidates that are worth keeping track of, Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard, and Elizabeth Warren. Keep in mind that the DNC, Wall Street Bankers, Drug Companies and a multitude of corporations and high dollar donors are spending tens of millions of dollars to suppress progressive candidates by utilizing the following methods:

  1. Mis-representing their position (Gabbard is a war veteran who is demonized by CNN, MSNBC and shows like the VIEW for choosing peace over regime change (which has continually failed: Iraq, Lybia, Honduras, Jamaica, Iran)).
  2. Keeping them out of the public eye (meaning the Mainstream Media). Kamala Harris gets a CNN townhall, the billionaire CEO of Starbucks gets a CNN townhall where he simply says what Americans can’t have.
They are trying to shut these three progressive candidates up at all costs. The money spent to do this represents tens of millions of reasons as to why you should really think about voting for them.
As far as Representative Donna Shalala goes, she should resign. We don't need another Representative who supports profits over people and works for donors who do the same. That is not why she got voted into office.

M-D County Commissioner District 5 Eileen Higgins.jpg

Now on to Eileen Higgins. She came in and she also asked me if this was the meeting and I told her yes. I also told her that she ran on Affordable Housing and she said yes. I told her that I contacted her office one of the staff members had got back to me right after her election to the Miami-Dade County District 5 office but told me she would then get back to me but did not. I told her that I had ten years of Landlord/Tenant Problem along with State Low-Income Housing Contract Problems that she needed to know about before making any decisions on Low-Income Housing or any Affordable Housing.
As I gave her the package that I had put together for her and as I was still talking to her, just walked away as if this did not matter to her. This is very ignorant and these people ask for your votes, your money and your time to recruit people as they are running for office and once elected flat out ignores you if you did not give them enough money, enough time or as if you did not vote for them.
She is not the only one, Javier Jose Rodriguez, Donna Shalala, Charlie Crist, Annette Taddeo and more seem to be good when they are running but when they become members of an government office they flat out change. I have met with each and every one of them and they all do the same. It is no wonder people do not want to vote and have negative feeling against politicians.
If you want your Representative to change always offer them lots of money. It is totally legal to buy your representative. That is how you make in any of our government policies. The only problem is that you must have lots of money to spend.
