Ships in the US.

There is a law in these United States that says that, in order for any ship to travel from any port to another while under US jurisdiction, the ship has to be built built in the USA, fly the USA flag, and be manned by a crew of USA citizens.

Two questions:

Would you support, or oppose keeping this policy in place?

There is one candidate for president who has supported keeping this policy in place. Which candidate do you think it is?

I think it is a terrible law (though it may have been a perceived necessity in 1920 when it was implemented). Today it probably only serves to make products more expensive so basically it helps U.S. shipbuilders and seamen but at the expense of everyone else.

Currently, both candidates support it though Trump flip-flopped on the issue which is unfortunate.
