If Cultural Appropriation is Wrong, What About Technological Appropriation?

Indeed, I am happy that technology is shared. But if we freely share technology, why not culture? Why one but not the other? It seems like a double standard to me that serves only people who want to draw lines of exclusion because they don't like foreigners.

Sort Order:

as you say, but it is the individual who can determine that. especially if the government is very supportive to a better direction without regard to white or black he like @alexbeyman said earlier.

Are you dense? The reason we do not share culture like tech should be obvious. If you had taken the time to become a human being this would be self evident

Culture is not a wife. Those are different things. You've expressed your individual subjective opinion about which is more important. I dispute it, and say that technology is more important.

That's rich, coming from a homophobe.

You do not like debate?

Your racist sensibilities are damaged.

I do. That's why I asked you to substantiate your claims concerning who was responsible for the inventions I listed. You ignored that and began shouting racist at me, which is why I will be taking away your article rewards from now on.

I do not appreciate being slandered for complaining about a double standard and making factually correct observations in the process.

...which is why I will be taking away your article rewards from now on.

I would strongly advise against that. It’s possible to keep disagreements contained within the relevant post(s). Downvoting unrelated content because you’re having a tantrum usually ends badly.

I would suggest that you reconsider those downvotes on the unrelated posts.

You'd think, right? But when @geetinstitute began flagging all of my articles for a while because I said that the geet engine is an investor scam, nobody helped me. I contacted the Steemit FB page, I contacted some whales on steemit chat, but nobody would intervene.

I was in the right, and trying to prevent Steemians from being swindled, but in the end @geetinstitute got his way because of powerful friends (@fulltimegeek primarily) and I had to surrender.

@blackvapor seems to have lost interest for the time being. If that keeps up, probably I will remove those flags. But I do not feel that defending myself against somebody who floods my comments with abusive spam constitutes a tantrum. What obligation do I have to allow myself to be trampled on?

Very well. But two can play at that game, and you have more to lose than I do.

homophobe?

If he can arbitrarily accuse me of racism for complaining about a double standard, I can arbitrarily accuse him of homophobia. I only have to be as honest as he is.

Racism isn't a double standard; by definition there is no racism against 'white' people.

You are not honest at all!

so.. when you think someone is lying, you just start lying up a storm?
