What is a PSYOP?

A Psychological Operation (PSYOP) in a military context involves employing psychological strategies and techniques to influence the emotions, attitudes, and behaviors of specific individuals or groups. These operations often include the dissemination of information, propaganda, or disinformation with the aim of achieving military objectives.

In politics, PSYOPs are used to shape public opinion, target certain demographics, or influence the decision-making processes of individuals or groups. Various forms of communication, such as media manipulation, social media campaigns, and strategic messaging, are utilized to achieve political goals. Ultimately, PSYOPs are designed to influence the target audience's perceptions and behaviors, whether in military or political arenas.

The Anatomy of a PSYOP

1. Broad Impact: A single PSYOP can target everyone simultaneously, even if a particular demographic is the primary focus. Everyone is subjected to its influence.

. 2. Multi-Objective Events: One event can be designed to achieve multiple goals, or multiple events can aim to fulfill a single primary objective.

3. Inducing Trauma: The goal of a PSYOP is to traumatize people. When people begin to act based on emotions like fear or anger instead of logic, it indicates they have been successfully traumatized. Traumatized individuals are more susceptible to operant conditioning and predictive programming.

4. Creating Division: For a PSYOP to be effective, it must foster a Hegelian dynamic. People must have sharply divided opinions about the event, creating an "us versus them" paradigm.

5. Follow-Up Analysis: Powers behind PSYOPs often conduct follow-up operations to assess who has been influenced and who has not.

6. Long-Term Strategy: The full impact of a PSYOP may take years or even decades to manifest, indicating a long-term strategy.

Case Study:

The George Floyd Incident On May 25, 2020, the world was unsettled by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. George Floyd, a Black civilian, lost his life in a brutal manner at the hands of a White police officer. The event was universally condemned as a severe abuse of power, and it initially united public opinion around its heinous nature. However, Floyd’s criminal past was later introduced into the narrative, causing a divide with some suggesting that he "deserved" what happened due to his past actions. The purpose of this Psychological Operation (PSYOP) seems to have been to create chaos and turmoil during a critical political period. At that time, two dominant forces in American politics were Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Donald Trump. BLM symbolized the divine feminine, advocating for progressive, and socialist ideas all under the pretense of justice and equality. Conversely, Trump represented a return to patriarchal values. It was no secret that the political Left wanted Trump out of office. The protests and widespread riots of the summer of 2020 significantly contributed to this objective. However, for these protests to occur, a triggering event was necessary, which was provided by the tragic death of George Floyd. This event catalyzed a series of reactions and counter-reactions, making it a quintessential example of an effective PSYOP, fulfilling multiple strategic purposes and creating a lasting impact on public perception and political dynamics.
