American politics/ World politics is a fucking joke. Even though I'm not an American citizen and I have no right to vote in this country; the fact that I'm watching Americans being forced to vote for one of two candidates knowing pretty damn well this person they are voting for is full of shit is sad. I have witnessed a very similar scenario in my country Egypt after the 2011 revolution. The next year (2012) we had democratic elections for presidency between Shafik who was part of the previous regime (Egyptian Hilary) & Morsi who was a right wing conservative (Egyptian Trump). The elections resulted in Morsi winning and after about a year he was thrown in prison where he still is now awaiting his execution for the crimes committed by his party and him while he was in office. Now tracking back a little bit to the transition period before the elections we had in Egypt, a man named Soliman who was VP during the turmoil came out and said that "Egypt is not ready for democracy" (Due to obvious reasons of people being generally uninformed) and it proved damn right after the result of the elections and the terrible year that followed while Morsi was in office. Now the question is; "Is America ready for democracy?" Better yet after Brexit vote in the UK.. "Is the world ready for democracy?" Because I'm ready to go out and Jump in the pool its so hot today.
