To be honest, it seems like the good people of US are pretty familiar with constraining their freedoms due to "terrorism". PATRIOT act is probably just one of the examples.
I do not believe that censorship of the internet (or any other medium) could lead to anything positive. This is just another tool for the elites to stay in power and control the masses. It is a known method to give the public something to fear and they will hand over their freedom just for the mere illusion of security.

I agree the American people too often give up freedom for the illusion of safety. instead of taking our freedom why doesn't the government deal with the people causing the issues. can't they send them a virus or do something the wreck their equipment. It seems that the government can trace internet chatter when they want to.
