It seems like a long shot, that's for sure...It's like a certain kind of boxing match: One guy (GOP) is out on it's feet and ready to be taken out but the other fighter (Dems) are too tired to finish them....
Yeah, I don't see it happening without significant exterior pressure forcing them to change coming from independent and third party candidates. Unless that happens, the Dems in general will always remain pro-corporate, pro-status quo, pro-war, and pro-corruption. Any newcomers who join them are inevitably bent in that direction, regardless of how they may be before getting elected.
True. I always thought that is partly why Sanders ran to the left of Dem ideals....he knew it was the only hope of winning and that the party system would pull him back to the middle once in office. IMO.
Yep, not to mention why he has always run as an independent himself. It doesn't make much sense why he's working so hard the last couple years to sheepdog people into a party that he himself won't even join. He needs to practice what he used to preach.
Eh, can't blame him too much Imo, we know the two party system won't go down quietly... he might have just thought once in my career I'm going to try and join them instead of fight them... Does he get the hint now? I guess we'll see you... really it was the perfect timing he just couldn't get everybody on board you know? Republicans brought up and began to revitalize the scare essentially
Jordan summed up my thoughts pretty well- he is right that Jimmy is more populist than you or the Sam Seders of the world. Calling Jimmy a useful idiot is making you a useful idiot as well.
You should really take a page from the Kyle's and the Jimmy's, the US leans way more left on the issues then what establishment media makes you want to think.
Whether you call it "purity tests" or progressive perfectionism doesn't change that the people want an uncorrupted government, and the majority of people will even vote against their own interests as a middle finger to the establishment.
Jimmy is right that the Democratic party is too corrupt to hope to reform it from within.

I'm a huge fan of Dore. But I think he's so unfunny it hurts....
That's how much I love his show.

I'd say David just stepped in it and shoved his foot in his mouth. I guess we all say stupid things from time to time.

The country wants radical change.
