At time of US civil war, the great president Lincoln, knew winning a war, is not the same as living together.  He called on all citizens of both south and north to be friends and lay down the anger of enemies.

Now over hundred years, we face again a great divide, and great emotional torrents.   Not as it was then, patches are here and there, but then another breakage appears.  Even to the point, some consider the other side of their views not as friends with different opinions, but actual enemies.

From these, are we seeing a splinter of broken states or townships.  The hardship staying together is straining on the nation, every election.  The parts do not respect the whole - states consider their own laws against federal laws.   As of the moment, money is the fine glue that hold this country together.  If  that fails, a weak federal government may not be able hold the different states together.

There are ambitions and great ambitions, to take apart and establish fiefdom on different localities.  The shrewd can play the people who have unwavering stance, delusional morals, and strong opinion to their favor, utilitize them, to enthrone himself or herself to be their King or Queen.   People who desire power, to control people because they perceive they know better than others, are in the plans to take on this ring of power.

While people's opinions may vary, this should not mean that we should lose our respect with each other, and this, I think, is what is lacking right now.
