How To Know You Are Being Lied To

The best way to know someone is lying to you is to know the truth beforehand. For instance, I know when left wingers lie about certain things (which happens often) because I already know the truth. I have been listening to Rush Limbaugh off and on for decades, so when liberals misquote him or lie about something he allegedly said, I immediately know they are lying. Now, if all I read is the Huffington Post or Media Matters or some other far left publication, then I would not know that I was being lied to. I would just buy the b.s.
I was golfing with my uncle, his wife, and my grandfather a few years ago, and they were well aware of my conservative views. They were teasing me that Rush Limbaugh was a 'hater.' I told them that he was not, and that I would not like him if he were. The problem is that they never actually listened to him. They were told lies about him, and never investigated for themselves. Dennis Miller calls this phenomenon Animus Abstentious.
The Huffington Post claimed that Ben Shapiro had “smeared” the teenage survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre on Valentine’s Day. He had not. I listen to Ben everyday, and so I knew right away that this was untrue. All he said was that surviving a horrible trauma does not convey policy expertise. Just like the kids in my previous post who only watch CNN for news, ask yourself why the name Stephen Willeford does not ring a bell. As a reminder, he was the NRA instructor who stopped the Sutherland Springs church massacre in Texas with an AR-15. He is a hero and no one knows his name, yet these two kids have been everywhere (it is because what they are saying matches the liberal media's narrative and fits into their agenda).
The point is, like Barack Obama said himself, you should listen to both sides. If not, and you shut yourself in like a weird recluse, then you will not be informed enough to know when you are being lied to. You won't just be brainwashed, you will practically be lobotomized, and you'll give cultists a bad name. As a side note, you can tell if someone is a rabid ideologue by whether or not they ever criticize their own side, or if their politicians are flawless according to them.
