I wish, I wish, I wish, that academics would stop trying to pretend to knowledge in fields they haven't invested as much effort into as their own fields. There should be a professional standard.

And, no, the requirement of being a good citizen in a democratic society doesn't justify non-political scientists playing political scholars poorly - if it means anything it means going to the trouble of trying to get it right, and not just "learning" everything you know from similarly biased popular press garbage.

Today I also learned that if you think the job of the Supreme Court is to defend the Constitution, that means you think the Constitution should never be amended.

This, folks, is your educated democratic citizen.

Is it any wonder I expect democracy to function so poorly?
