Will the Commission on Presidential Debates allow Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson to debate? Likely not

in politics •  8 years ago  (edited)

On August 15th, 2016, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) announced the polls that would be used for the 2016 candidate selection criteria and it looks like Gary Johnson will not be making it in. Dr. Frank Newport, Editor in Chief of Gallup, selected the polling criteria.

The criteria for selection is based on:

  • The reliable frequency of polling and sample size used by the polling organization
  • The soundness of the survey methodology employed by the polling organization
  • The longevity and reputation of the polling organization

  • The CPD used the following polls:
  • ABC-Washington Post
  • CBS-New York Times
  • CNN-Opinion Research Corporation
  • Fox News
  • NBC-Wall Street Journal

  • I am not sure about you but I do not trust any of those "news" organizations. In fact several of the polls didn't even mention Johnson or Jill Stein, Green Party nominee, as options.

    CPD Mission Statement
"The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) was established in 1987 to ensure that debates, as a permanent part of every general election, provide the best possible information to viewers and listeners. Its primary purpose is to sponsor and produce debates for the United States presidential and vice presidential candidates and to undertake research and educational activities relating to the debates."

Pivit, a prediction market site, had the chance of Johnson being in the debates at 48% until the CPD made their announcement and now Pivit gives Johnson a 22% chance. Don't you love democracy? Democracy is where the majority make slaves out of the minority.

Were you really that surprised? Clinton would have Johnson killed before letting him take the presidency away from her.

This surprises me....not at all. Should go without saying by now that the political process is evil and enables evil.

@anarcho-andrei Statism is one helluva drug...

I love living in a democratic society like Canada 🇨🇦.

@dmacshady Why? The great thing about anarchism is that in an anarchist society you would have the choice to live in that type of community as long as you didn't violate rights or force your "beliefs" on others. A large group can come together, voluntarily, and decide to live in a democratic society.

Now that you were specific about it, I would rather live in anarchist society. I know what you mean though, I dislike when people push their "beliefs" on other people. Cheers mate :) .

So would I. We don't need the government to tell us how to live our life, as long as we are not violating others' rights, we should be left to ourselves.

IF they need the Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson they will implement that with no problem.

They, those ruling over us, don't need Johnson nor do they want a third option that will need to be controlled and maintained. Weld isn't a Libertarian so really the LP has already been corrupted.
