Alright, If you are here I have your attention.
I just want you to think about this for one second. People around the world live under government laws and regulations. People are struggling, people are hungry, people want a peaceful life.
Now, think about the Internet which has been unregulated since its existence. Think about how many millionaires and billionaires have created in an unregulated system.
So now I ask you, Do we really need regulations?

Doesn't make much sense to regulate people who make mistakes with an additional layer of people who also make mistakes. So to your answer, some regulation is good, but regulation by people is always bad.

I guess that's why authors never use editors...

I'm against all federal government regulation. It should be left to the states at the most.

Depends. Do you think it would be ok for your neighbor to forcefully take over your house/apartment?
The thing is it's difficult to really affect other people over the internet. You can write nasty things, or maybe SWAT them... But you're not going to pollute the drinking water for millions of people.
Lastly, there are plenty of people who became billionaires in highly regulated real life.

No, I don't think it would be okay for my neighbor to do that, but I also have the freedom to defend myself. So my neighbor should know that I may have a gun and shoot. Besides, the law doesn't prevent the crime.

So you want to take your chances every night when you go to bed? Every time you have your back turned? Hire food tasters for every meal you eat?
Yeah, I'll take laws. Because you might CLAIM laws don't prevent murder, but if you mysteriously disappear and some guy's suddenly sitting in your house, watching your tv and drinking your beer he's going to jail. Which is why that doesn't happen.

You are correct people can become rich in a highly regulated system, but the internet has made it much easier and there aren't as much red tape. Perfect example is Uber. They didn't have any regulations and because of that had a huge advantage over the taxi industry.

Uber has a lot of advantages over taxi companies even if they were regulated. Plus, they are in the real world and will be regulated. In fact they are banned in my city (which sucks.)

Well I think my point is more that unregulated companies are able to become successful quicker. Uber and Airbnb were not regulated in the beginning. Now the government is starting to crack down.

Sure they can. For instance if the manfacturing plant upstream from you had no regulations, it's much cheaper to dump toxic chemicals in the river than to dispose of them properly.

Yes, but the EPA who controls this allows pollution when they are paid off.

If you have evidence of this bribery happening with any regularity, go ahead and present it. Perhaps to some judges.
Look, the occasional failure of a system is not in itself an argument for not having the system. Brakes occasionally fail on cars, for instance, but we still drive because it's massively useful and the rate of failure is pretty small.
