The conservative side (for the most part) wouldn't want them to be censored, but under their own rules if they are wrong someone should silence them (the Stalin fashioned way I mean), ergo they must fight to the very end to impose their ideas as the right ones. Is, literally (for them, at least subconsciously for the naive), a fight to death.
So, if they are wrong, they are dead.
