If the new budget proposal cut funding for the arts, planned parenthood, and pick your favorite social program, BUT put money back in your pocket....would you then donate that money to the arts, planned parenthood, or your favorite social program?
I have found when I use a “hierarchy of values” so many of what some say are complicated, really are not. Understanding our governments spending, taxing, and budgeting are no doubt complicated. So this is how I simplify it:
- Today our US national debt is almost 20 trillion (61,280 per citizen). 2. Is it constitutional? So much of what our Federal government does is not! So with those two bits of facts I agree with, answer so many issues.
I will end with Amendment 10 – reserved powers from the bill of rights. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
The answer is the Feds shouldn’t be funding any of those programs, it should be the State.
