The Vice President of the German parliament, Johannes Singhammer: “[The figures] show that if the costs are added up for all federal states, around €23 billion has probably been spent on migrants and refugees in 2016.” Germany's Der Spiegel magazine said on Saturday that the German government expects to spend around €93 billion by the end of 2020 on costs related to the refugee crisis. Meanwhile the local citizen's poverty rate in Germany is rising and was nearly around 16% in 2015, according to the report by an alliance of organizations called the Paritätische Gesamtverband.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel recently admitted she had lost control of the refugee crisis in Germany. Yet she is still not willing to make a changes in the migration policy.
