Universal BirthRight - the entitlement due by the sole virtue of birth. (properly tagged)

This I have developed myself as the intellectual basis for a fairer society. The 1% dont get rich by working harder, they get rich by controlling access to the resources of planet earth. Including its labor resources.
Now I don't mind people doing that if they have the talents in so doing - so long as they compensate everyone that they deny access to those same resources.
As Jesus allegedly noted, the birds don't work for a living, but they are fed. Skipping the obvious nonsense here, there is a nugget of truth. Why are all birds equal? Answer: It is because they all, at birth, start from the same level playing field (minor differences in plumage to attract a better mate aside). They are not handed an estate to rule by their parents. In short, ALL the birds - and all other animals - have equal access to all the world's resources to do with as they will.
Humans alone give some children immense wealth and allocate other children nothing, with no access to land or water. For that, they have to pay the kids of the rich people.

So from this line of thought come 2 conclusions: (1) The idea that all kids inherit all assets equally on birth - as one generation succeeds the next - and that they therefore have an inherent RIGHT to 1/8billionth of the worlds resources. If they arent getting it, they should be compensated in cash (or equivalent)
(2) The problem with the idea of a merit-based society is that it generally ignores that those that pop out of wealthy vaginas are born powerful no matter how lazy they are. The answer is to eliminate the work tax (all life taxes) in favor of a 100% death tax. On death, your assets are returned to the common pool to be shared by the next generation equally. You cant take it with you anyway, so you wont miss it. So let the new generation each have an equal start in life, and those who truly merit it, will prosper.

The idea of a common right to resources, however, is like all "rights" - its a notion. Nothing more. There is no such thing as a "right". "Rights" are simply legal fictions. Ultimately, all actual powers/guarantees are won by force. All rights can, ultimately, be taken away by anyone more powerful than you.
Upshot: as long as the 8 billion dont have the power to enforce equal division of resources at birth, they will never have it. The 0.1% DO have the power to take it all for themselves. So they do.

You have 2 forms of power: Your spending money (low) and your vote (somewhat equal). Most people dont bother exercising either carefully, and so the 0.1% always win. Sort out how to change that and you can indeed bring this change about.

Until then, its just another pie in the sky.
