Dictatorship of politically correct and slavery

in politics •  6 years ago

Hello readers!

I am not a hard steemer but what i'm about to write is because I feel I need to express it and I want it to feel anonymous. I also want you to give your opinion and tell me if you think the same or you think I'm wrong and why, I want to know all the points of view.

I'm gonna tell you about what I believe is happening nowadays in, I think, most of the european countries and some other like USA and some South America countries, related to this "Dictatorship of politically correct", the raise of the extreme-right political parties and its relation with the slavery.

I want to talk from my experience, so that's from Spain, my country. Here nowadays there is a widespread feeling that there is only one way of thinking that is the correct one, the one that makes you a good person, and if you don't think like that it means you are mean, bad and you can't think by yourself so you are wrong. That is what I call: "the dictatorship of politically correct".

In this point maybe most of you know what I am talking about. Have you ever have doubts about publishing something in your social network because you are afraid it may "hurt" someone? , or it can be missunderstood and then your publication will go viral and you will be punished by the society and seen as a bad person? This is only an extreme example of what I'm talking about, it is not so easy like that, but I'm sure most of us know some examples of a similar case.

Why this happens? I think everything that happens to an entire society is a mix of thousands circustances, so it is hard to explain it correctly, but I'd say it is mainly because of the social networks. In the past, you had an opinion but you didn't have a speaker or a way to spread it, now social networks allow people to express their opinion (the same way I´m doing right now) and many other people to read it. It gives people a huge power that was only in the hands of few others who controlled it.

There is also a raise of the awareness of people about respect to others, no matter if they are gay, trans, black or white, chinesse... whatever, and in my opinion that's simply awesome, is great to respect everyone since we are all humans, and a healthy respect includes trying not to hurt anyone because of a racial, sexual or any other factor. Most of people agree it gotta be like that. The problem appears when, mainly young people, from my own generation (I was born in the 90's) seems to be "made of cristal", it seems everything you say may hurt sensibilities from a collective, the LGTBI collective, the feminist collective, the people who have blue eyes, brown skin and drive a red car collective... It makes us be afraid of saying whatever we want to, even if you want to say a joke, you gotta be very careful because there will be probably someone who feels it is an ofense against him and his collective, it basically cuts our freedom of expression.

People in the social networks believe they have a moral superiority and they have the REAL and WHOLE TRUTH. It is a fact in the past there was a lot of racism and maleness, and still there is in some places, there are a lot of improvements yet to do, but I don't think turning to an extreme position against it and trying to reach equality by unequals laws in the other direction will be the solution.

But, who is the "leadder" of this current of thoughts? Well, once someone said: "Control the media, and you'll control people's minds". Yes, I am directly blaming to the media, televisions, radios, newspapers, everything. I don't know if you feel the same, but from some years to now, when I watch the news it feels like I'm watching some morality program, they don't only inform of the news objectively as they should do, they give a completely biased information, giving their opinion and, of course, they only inform about what they want. I also think people don't like that media treat them like if they are stupid, like if they couldn't create an own opinion about things and think what they think is correct and better. That's one of the reasons why I think extreme-right political parties are raising in many countries, and they will keep raising in the next years.

I realise it is getting too long, so I will make it shorters from now.

Ok, social media are following this current, but why? Who is the boss to say what they have to talk about?
Well, bosses of social media are usually very rich people, people with so much money that normal people like me couldn't even imagine, they control usually many companies that give a job to thousand of people. Even if they are not owners, they have so much money, that they create foundations that give them grants, obviously in a change of following some current of thought. It is not so easy like that, but basically it is a very simple explanation of what I try to say.

As I think we all know, big companies of the world control it, they say governments what to do, how to make policies, and what way to follow. They have the money and they have the power, governments are ruled by people, and people are intrinsecally selfish, there have been historically thousand, maybe millions of corruption cases, that government that supose to rule for the people, rule for their own interests. Here in Spain it is something awesome how they laugh at our faces, but I won't talk about it in this post.

What I'm trying to say is, richiest people control the governments and social media, and what are their interests? Gettting more powerful and richer, I think most of people have this interest, in a different level, but the same. So they reach their objective by getting more incomes and less expenses, this is an easy economy rule. Benefit = Incomes - Expenses.

If you decrease the expenses, you earn more benefit, then what it is easy to decrease nowadays? Salaries.
From the 2008 crisis, salaries have gone down, at least in Spain, almost a 50% on average, while the companies have continue increasing their benefits. This is normal in crisis, many people loose their jobs so they are willing to work the same for less money, if they wouldn't, some other people would do it for less. While salaries go down, price go up, every year there is something called inflation, that governments try to control to reach a sustainable growth. As a consequence, people have lost a lot of purchasing power. That's a graphic that shows the purchasing power lost of spanish people in the last years.

I see again it's getting too long, so I will go directly to the conclusion.

What I have tried to express, is that I think all this atmosphere we are living in, of the politically correction, is because rich people encourage social media to make us think in a only way, it is opening borders so every inmigrant can come. It would be great in an utopian world, but we are not living in a perfect world, so I think migration should be controlled, not stopped, but controled. If we keep on acting like this, and everyone who says it gotta be controlled is called racist, what we are going to reach is more people fighting for a same job, and the same richest companies contracting people paying them each time less, so we will finally go near slavery while they will keep on getting richer.

Dictatorship of politically correct is also about feminism, but I don't have time for more, so if I see people like this post, and comment and debate about it, I can make a post about it some other aspects.

I hope you like it and sorry for doing it so long!
